The Beat: Why Parties Matter, Not Just During the Holidays

The Beat for this month is here, offering a behind-the-scenes look at life at Ally Medical ER. This series highlights the people, stories, and moments that make emergency care feel personal, human, and anything but stereotypical. This month, we’re focusing on something that may seem simple, but plays an important role in who we are: parties.

This Month’s Focus: Why Parties Matter, Not Just During the Holidays

At Ally Medical ER, excellence in patient care begins with taking care of our people. As an emergency room, our teams work long shifts, caring for patients during moments that don’t pause for holidays or special occasions. Creating time to come together outside the ER allows us to reconnect, recharge, and strengthen the relationships that support the exceptional care we provide every day.

All the time, we host parties for our teams across Texas, giving employees the opportunity to celebrate their hard work alongside their coworkers and loved ones. From a facility party celebrating an anniversary to a holiday party celebrating all of our accomplishments that year, they all matter. These gatherings reflect our commitment to inclusion, welcoming family members and creating an environment where everyone feels supported and valued.

“Thank you to our teams for everything they do every single day. These moments of celebration are about more than parties. They are about recognizing the people behind the care, strengthening our connections, and reminding one another that we are supported, appreciated, and stronger together,”  Lyndsay Bredahl, Lead Community Outreach Coordinator said.

A Celebration of Collaboration and Connection

Emergency care is a team effort, and collaboration is at the core of everything we do. Parties give team members from different roles and locations the chance to connect outside the fast-paced clinical environment. Seeing one another beyond the ER floor builds trust, strengthens communication, and reinforces the teamwork that directly impacts patient care.

Compassion for Our Teams and Their Families

Compassion at Ally Medical ER extends beyond patient care, it also shapes how we support one another. Allowing employees to bring their loved ones to parties gives everyone a glimpse into the community behind the work and acknowledges the vital role they play in supporting our team members. These moments create space for kindness, understanding, and appreciation, reinforcing the respect we strive to show both patients and staff.

Recognition That Reflects Our Culture

Parties are also an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the contributions of every team member. From shared moments of gratitude to raffle prizes open to all employees, these events remind our teams that their hard work and dedication are seen and valued.

That same commitment to recognition and culture was recently affirmed when Ally Medical ER was named a 2025 Austin American-Statesman Top Workplace for the third consecutive year, earning the No. 1 ranking in the Midsize Employer category. Based entirely on anonymous employee feedback, the award reflects how strongly our teams feel about communication, collaboration, and alignment with our mission. Employees described Ally Medical ER’s culture as “joyful” and collaborative, a sentiment we see reflected in moments like these celebrations.

Excellence Starts With Our People

We believe deeply that patient-centered care begins with an employee-centered culture. When our teams feel supported, included, and recognized, that energy carries directly into the care they provide. Parties are more than a celebration, they’re a reflection of our core values in action: excellence, collaboration, compassion, recognition, and inclusion.

By investing in our people and the moments that bring them together, we continue building a workplace where exceptional care starts from within.

Stay Connected

The Beat is all about sharing what makes Ally Medical ER unique, one story at a time. If you missed last month’s edition, Why Is Our Mascot a Bear?, we invite you to take a moment to explore how Ally Bear became a symbol of the comfort, compassion, and care we bring to every patient experience.
