Lifeworks is a local non-profit in East Austin offering support and resources to youth and families experiencing homelessness. They work to help provide resources and support for them to be able to live happy, healthy, and sustainable futures through providing housing, counseling, education, and job support to numerous youth and families in Austin. The holidays can be a difficult time and the annual toy drive helps spread a little more holiday cheer to these children and families and supports Lifeworks Austin’s incredible work.

How Can the Austin Community Get Involved?

The Austin community can help make this toy drive a success through donations and volunteering! The Austin LGBT Chamber Holiday Toy Drive is asking for donations of new and unwrapped toys and clothes for children of all ages. They have a helpful list of gifts recommendations by age group on their website to make shopping easier. We want to make sure everyone is included from our newborns to teenagers, so there are great ideas for everyone. Overall, we see that toys of any kind, books, family games, and clothes are perfect gifts and very appreciated! The community can also get involved by volunteering to help organize donations and gift drop offs. Finally, you can get involved by spreading the word! Share information about the toy drive with your friends on social media and in person.

Drop Off Donations at Ally Medical

You can drop off any donations for the toy drive at our Ally Medical Central Austin, South Austin, and Round Rock locations. We’ll be accepting donations starting November 15^th and going through December 15^th.

Ally Medical’s Partnership with the Austin LGBT Chamber

Since we first opened, our mission at Ally Medical has been to serve our community beyond the walls of our ER. One of the first things we did was join the LGBT Chamber to help make sure that the community knew that our doors are open to anyone and everyone that needs help. It has been incredible to be a part of the Austin LGBT Chamber and especially be involved with their Health and Wellness Committee to be able to contribute to this great event.

Reminders for the holiday season!

Ally Medical operates seven emergency rooms in Texas with Austin-area locations in Bastrop, South and Central Austin, Dripping Springs, Round Rock, and Houston-area locations in Clear Lake and Spring. Our emergency rooms are open 24/4 with little to no wait time DURING THE HOLIDAYS. We will be open Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day!
